Luis Mediero, Fonsi Sernandez, of the RPP based in Spain and Coach Kevin Pease meet together at a Padel Coaches Training Course in Nashville.
I received an invitation from the Wilson Advisory department to attend a Padel Professional certification being held in Nashville in later September. Padel is a court sport invented in Mexico and adopted in Europe as a major racquet sport.
There are now thousands of courts in Spain!
There is a professional tour there, 3.5 million players (more popular than tennis), and over 14,000 courts. Padel is more popular than tennis in Sweden. The sport is getting traction here in the United States. One company here in the US is Sensa Padel. Eagerly accepting a full scholarship from Wilson I flew to Sensa, Nashville.
The course took place over twenty hours and three days at Sensa Padel in Nashville. Sensa also has a new club in Boston! The Nashville outdoor courts are situated in the middle of a brand new corporate park, with tech housing and health minded businesses. There is a new Oracle Headquarters being built, with many professionals basing their home in Nashville. I noticed a spa, health club, brewing company and cafe’ and a healthy food restaurant. People were walking by Sensa looking very interested as to what was going on.
Padel can be played year round indoors or on warmer days outside. I met my coaches—Luis Mediero (Founder and Director of World Operations) and Fonsi Sernandez (Latin Director of Operations) representing the Registry of Padel Professionals (RPP) that provides international certification based in Spain. A dozen coaches with mostly tennis backgrounds from Latin America and Europe came to take RPP course. Most of us took the level 1 & 2 exams and passed the accreditation process.

You can train at Sensa in Boston (4 indoor blue courts) ! It’s about one hour away from Falmouth and it’s a great facility. I’d be happy to be your coach there as I’ve now signed on with Sensa! Contact Kevin if you wish to begin your journey. Here is the link for Sensa Padel in Boston. Padel combines fast paced tennis movements on a court sized that of a badminton court combined with racquetball off glass walls. It has a rebel mountain biker, surfer, and tennis vibe to it. It is for the adventurous and fun loving!
