Kevin Pease, USPTA, grew up in West Falmouth, Mass. He played for Falmouth High and then for the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has been the tennis director for the Falmouth Sports Center since 1982.
During this time he has developed a large number of junior and adult players. His junior players have attained success as high school and college varsity-level athletes, as well as local and national ranking. This year four players from Falmouth received Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors, the most on any sports team in Eastern Massachusetts. Three of those made it to the state semifinals, and two of those players earned national rankings.
While at the Sports Center, Kevin has also brought adult beginners to the “A” club level and has developed players who have become teaching professionals.
“In short, we are a ‘tennis town,’” Kevin says. “We have ‘tennis tots’ all the way to USTA team players playing here in Falmouth. We would like to welcome you to our tennis family and assist you with your tennis goals.
“Be sure to give us your e-mail address so that we may send you our personal weekly tip and keep you informed regarding our programs and calendar.”
Distinction
Kevin Pease was recently honored at the 2007 USPTA New England Division Annual Spring Convention held
May 18-20th, at the Ocean Edge Resort, in Brewster, MA.
Kevin received the 2006 New England Coach of the Year. This attribute no doubt is a reflection of the many junior players trained by Kevin who have attained success at high school and college varsity levels, as well as local and national ranking. In 2006, four players who trained at the Falmouth Sports Center received Boston Globe All-Scholastic awards, the most on any sports team in Eastern Massachusetts. Three of the players made it to the state semi-finals and two of which have national rankings. In addition, Kevin received the #1 Player of the Year for the Men’s 45+ division. After graduating from UMass Amherst with a degree in Sports Management, Kevin began teaching tennis at the Falmouth Sports Center and has successfully operated the Kevin Pease School of Tennis for the last 25 years.
Nearly 150 of the local, most influential tennis teachers gathered at this convention, which featured such noted speakers as Ron Woods, President of the USTPA; Tom Daglis, Tim Mayotte, Nick Saviano, Nick Bollettieri, Mary Rompf, Bob Weinberg, Doug Eng and Sophie Amiach.
